A Walk Through Dirigo II
Dirigo II has a deck companionway entry on the top
of the main house Starboard of center.

She also has an engine room
hatch/ladder entry and a "Booby Hatch"/ladder entry in the Focsle.
She has 3 large glass ported hatches on top of the houses for ventilation and
light. She also has a large butterfly hatch amid ships with opening
windows protected by bronze rods.
Fully aft is a stand up
engine room. The engine room is entered from a doorway in the master
cabin.
Forward of the engine room is the master cabin with sea berths
Starboard and Port. We have a cross wise partition with a mattress to fit
a small family into the master cabin.
Forward of the master cabin is the head and the navigation
station, and then the main salon. The main salon has settees on each side.
The dining table is on the starboard side, with a bench that can be placed
center to seat 3 on each side. The settees each have a back that can be
raised and hung from the deck beams. This allows four to sleep in the main
salon.
Forward of the main salon is a walkthrough passage with double
over and under berth cabins on each side.
Forward of the passage is the galley, with food storage
Starboard, sink and stove Port.
Forward of the galley is the Focsle cabin. The Focsle has
berths Starboard and Port, with sail storage and food stuff storage under the
berths. In the forward area of the focsle is the chain storage locker. It is
opened with 12 thumbscrews. Starboard is 250 feet of rode and 150 foot of
chain. Port is 150 foot of rode and 50 foot of chain.
Dirigo II can sleep 12, but we routinely limit her overnight
berthing to 10, as we leave the main salon Starboard settee in place so that
crew and guests can sit down at the dining table at any time and snack. |
