The LandsEnd Connection:
Well, we sailors need a lot of clothes. Several of us involved with Dirigo II have over the years purchased a lot of high quality stuff from LandsEnd. In Particular, the delivery crew all received the wonderful "Cobble Cloth" sweaters with the Embroidery "Dirigo II, Where we go one, we go all". (See the movie "White Squall"). Later on, we began routinely giving out hats with a beautiful 7 sail schooner image embroidered on, for anyone who did a weekend or longer cruise.
This led to shirts and jackets and polartec garments. Most of the crew routinely wear long sleeve khaki shirts with the 7 sail schooner embroidery. Well, everyone asks us about the clothing. There are various sizes and colors of several items floating around. The LandsEnd stuff is high quality, and it looks great, it is useful memorabilia, and we are all proud of sailing this ship.
So here is the deal:
We have registered the 7 sail schooner image together with the name Dirigo II as a business logo with LandsEnd. This is the only way in the world you can get this done consistently right. You peruse the Lands End Online Store or catalogue. You pick out and detail any flat cloth knitted item(s) (you cannot embroider on a down parka or a bulk knit sweater, for instance) from LandsEnd.
You can use our form: SalesForm. Include a
check (USMail) or a credit card number with embossed name detail and expiration date (EMail), and send it per below. We will order the item(s) drop shipped to your address. You will have to add $17.50 to the cost of each item for the embroidery (This is an 8,000 stitch logo). You will never get or give anything nicer in your life. You cannot order the logo yourself, trust me.
Don't forget the color or size of the item(s). Don't forget the address where you want it shipped. Remember to calculate and include the shipping expense in your remittance. LandsEnd is very good, stuff usually arrives within 4 days with the cheapest delivery option.
