Deck Repair at Manual Bilge Pump
The Edson pump was hidden in a deck box without drainage. Also it was tall enough to obstruct the hatch sliding all the way forward. Someone along the way "solved" this by setting the pump into the deck on a metal plate. This whole mess caught and held water, damaging the deck planking and the aft deckhouse forward wall. The pump will be set in a box with drainage. The pump has been sheared down 1 inch at the base to allow hatch clearance.
