Cleaning the transom

The transom has been sealed with varnish but never cleaned. White paint has dribbled arounf from the plank painting, and boatyard putty has squeezed through the seams. The transom is actually two layers. The upper layer is port orford cedar. The transom is scraped and sanded where necessary, and several additonal coats of varnish applied.
